Burger and Shake Night is back!

In its fifth season, Homemade is pleased to announce that our Burger and Shake Night returns on Wednesday April 17th and every Wednesday thereafter until August, We open at 5pm and serve food until 8pm every Wednesday. We close at 9pm. We offer 3 handmade meaty burgers - all gluten free and 5 handmade veggie burgers - 4 are vegan and 2 are gluten free. Our meals come with potato wedges cooked in the oven or homemade coleslaw and green salad. We make 4 milkshakes and will be offering delicious smoothies for those on a health kick! Its always best to book a table by calling us or texting 07774013438, as we can get very busy. We offer daily desserts and Yee Kwan Icecreams and Sorbets. Try us - our burgers are unique and well worth a try.

Friday Night is Bistro Night

Two Fridays per month we are open between 7.30 -10pm for our Bistro Night. We offer a two or three course set menu with fish/meat options. Bring Your Own Wine. Priced at £16.50/£20 per head, with BYO wine or beer £2/£1.50 corkage... its our signature evening. Booking is essential. The next Bistro nights with availability are Friday 10th May, Friday 7th June and Friday 21st June . Currently Friday May 3rd and Friday May 31st are fully booked. We are fully booked for April unfortunately.

Saturday Sharing Plates

Sharing Plates will return in 2013. Sharing Plates is tapas style food - the homemade way ! You start with a selection of homemade dips and oils, breads and olives, or speciality nuts and seeds, our harissa almonds or dukkah. We then bring you one of our Sharing Plates filled with our salads and potatoes of the night accompanied by your choice of meat, fish or vegetarian food from our menu. Priced at £16.50 per head, with BYO wine or beer £2/£1.50 corkage... its a night worth trying, especially with groups of friends. Our next available night will be Saturday April 27th and we have a Mexican Theme. Currently only two tables are remaining. Our Sharing Plates on May 25th will have our most popular theme - Asian - so book early to avoid disappointment.

Would you like to use Homemade for a private party?

Are you interested in meeting up with friends for an evening at the café? We often cater for book groups, birthday parties, work related social events and meetings, societies and clubs.We are already fully booked for September weekend evening bookings, so it's good to plan ahead. We take bookings for private events on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7.00-10.00. Minimum of 15 people, maximum of 36. Friday and Saturday evening bookings are available for groups of 25 or more. We offer a two course menu from £16.50 per head, or £20 per head for three courses. Price includes pre dinner appetizers and we only charge £2 a bottle on corkage on your wine.

Homemade Deli

Inside our little deli we sell olives, antipasti, Yorkshire cheeses, handmade pates and sandwiches to takeaway every day, as well as an array of fabulous jars of jams, jellies, chutneys, relishes, sauces and dressings, the Award winning Pipers crisps, nuts, spicy broadbeans, biscuits and crackers and of course loose leaf teas and coffee beans ground the way you like them. Our range of jams, chutneys and relishes made by Clippy, are produced near Manchester and use British apples as the basis of every flavour. Our favourites are Apple and Blueberry jam, Apple and Plum Chutney and Apple, Roasted Pepper and Garlic Relish. Why not try Clippy's Apple, Garlic and Thyme Jelly or Redcurrant and Apple Jelly, both great with Spring Lamb.

Stuff to know

Homemade is open Tuesday to Saturday for coffee, homemade cakes and lunch. Our menu changes daily. On Saturdays we offer vegetarian and meat breakfasts until midday as well as a lunch menu.

How to get a table

The café is generally at its busiest during the 12.00pm-2.00pm lunchtime and if you need a table of 5 people or more then it is advisable to book. We are happy to accommodate group bookings of up to 12 people during the lunch hour period although we ask you book your table after 1pm to allow service to regular customers.

Currently our Friday night Bistro Evenings run from 7.30pm to 10.00pm although groups can be accommodated earlier if children are in the party.

We do advise you book a table, although if we have room we will always seat you.

What we believe

At Homemade we offer a daily changing vegetarian menu that uses the freshest seasonal produce available.

We believe in sourcing and using local produce where possible, and offer unusual fresh salads, homemade soups and warm dishes of the day that challenge conventional ideas about vegetarian cuisine. We have a small and intimate cafe space and cater for a wide variety of dietary needs from vegans to coeliacs. Most importantly, we as owners, prepare, cook and serve all our own food, and therefore know exactly what each dish contains.

We have been supported by the residents of Nether Edge and see ourselves as a community cafe, yet have increasingly found people travelling from all over Sheffield to eat with us in the cafe and at our Bistro Night due to the power of word of mouth. Even our Burger and Shake Night offers four homemade vegetarian/vegan burgers and just two homemade meat burgers, oven roasted potato wedges as well as soya milk and fresh fruit shakes - we must have the healthiest burger night in Sheffield!
